ELA Calgary - The first publicly accessible autonomous vehicle in Canada
On September 8th, The City in Calgary in partnership with Pacific Western Transportation, launched Canada’s first autonomous vehicle that can be used by the public. ELA, or ‘Electric Autonomous,’ is a fully-accessible 12-person vehicle, which moved passengers between the Calgary Zoo and TELUS Spark throughout September 2018. This presentation looks at the planning and results of the trial, along with what lessons were learned, and what the future holds for autonomous vehicles and cities.
